This is a great video . . . there are a few things I think that have been presented as arguments that may be hurting the intended cause. I do believe the scriptures, and have faith in God. Isaiah, Psalms, and 2 Chronicles & again in the NT there is a mention of God "Stretching out the heavens" . . . to me, this could explain a few mysteries which have formerly been unaccounted. The video also 'insists' on declaring creation as 6 "24 hour days" . . . but the scriptures define the day as 'the morning and the evening'. When I see this description, and look at something like a cellular mitosis diagram, I believe this is how the day occurs . . . the creatures of creation are emulating the process of creation. The trouble of trying to use a 24 hour period is that the duration of 24 hours is based upon how the sun & earth interact . . . but if there is no earth, how do you set the time based upon something that has not even been created yet? Likewise . . . why insist on today's way of of measuring earth's day as the only way of understanding that duration of time? I don't see a need to call this a 'gap' theory, because an understanding that agrees with itself has all of its own elements defined within the boundaries of scripture; including a lack of a need to add the phrase "24 hour" into the cycle of what God calls 'a day'. Then again, I don't have trouble with God speaking the universe into existence, because phonons have signatures that precede photons . . . . something I discovered after having faith in the Word. I also understand that if God did speak the universe into existence, which I believe He did, that the 'speaking' would need to happen at a particular location . . . it surely would be 'loud' (infinitely louder than silence). This places 'big bang' indicators within the confines of a spoken origin. I don't claim to be the source of the answers . . . I'm actually very thankful for Hovind, who visited my high school around '90. . . I'm thankful for the Word, and I'm thankful for scientists. Yes, there is a problem with scientism, but there also are problems with Christians that take an exact contrary position to science & add additional qualifying terms that are outside of the scope of scripture. There are far fewer complications when scripture is permitted to speak for itself without adding unnecessary parameters.
