In the true Church. Not in one or more of the hundreds of false churches, will you find the correct explanation of the principle of baptism for both the living and the dead. Come to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and we will teach you the truths that God has revealed.
I know the unrepentant sinner will not inherit the Kingdom of God. And there is no repentance after death. So this scripture is not in any way teaching a born again relative, or friend, ect. can be baptized for a person who did not repent, and turn to Jesus before they died! But perhaps this is talking about a person who does repent, and turn to Jesus before their death? Like the thief on the cross, or a person on their death bed? And that person who truly repented and believed the gospel, died before they were able to be baptized? Then it would make sense that one could be baptized in their place? Just a thought! Because Jesus was very clear when he told his disciples in Mark, He who believes and is baptized shall be saved!
LDS doctrine and the Book of Mormon teach an additional revelation from Jesus Christ. That being the case, all other Church doctrines must fall short of the truth? When we understand the history of Mormonism and some of the nonsense the Church teaches, what should Christians believe? As an ex-Mormon I know many Mormons to be sincere people. The problem of following a doctrine that adds to the Bible, however, , questions the validity of all other churches and whether any of them are true?

Thank you!! I've been studying this on several websites and was not able to understand. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the point about how Jesus was baptized on our behalf! He is our high priest! That baptism was for all of time because God is omnipresent!
