Doug Batchelor did Jesus Christ told the thief on the cross get down and go to the church in order to be saved. Doug Batchelor with your flowery words you are absolutely contradicting Jesus Christ teachings. Doug Batchelor you better read Matthew 6:6 Luke 23:42,43 Jesus Christ never told the thief on the cross to go to the church in order to be saved. Doug Batchelor you are a false prophet. Also the reason why you keep saying going to the church or congregation is practically the more church attendance more collection on the offering plates, contributions and donations…the blessings of God he may give or bestow to anyone as He wishes, it does not necessarily you have to go to assemblies, churches or congregation. Doug Batchelor most of your teachings are not biblical. Like the passages I quoted are exactly what the Bible teaches.
I believe you can get too much church. I believe you can get so much religion you don't even know you are saved. I believe you can be harassed so much that harassment over religion pushes you further away. I honestly believe I understand religion better today and the Bible because I have spent time learning about the world in which I live instead of spending so much time in study and reflection and learning. Yes, I still believe learning and education are critically important to my life and most of what I do with my life counts as learning and study and honest reflection. But I just got through paying a bunch of my own bills and some bills for my ailing Father and the church is telling me money is not important. Might it be wrong to spend so much time when that time is spent listening to a lie? Especially my ill father needs some procedures and medical attention that I simply cannot afford. Maybe God will provide the miracle or maybe I wish I was better endowed. There was a time when I listened to every criticism and every complaint, but for now – until death – we live in a real world and have to play by its rules. And I still believe that my study makes me a decent Christian.

I've been saved for going on 2 years now and have been a handful of times but something was missing. I was compelled to not go because of this. I spent the next year reading the Bible cover to cover and came to the truth of the Sabbath. God may kept from Sunday worship but I've not attended any 7th day churches either. I've been planning on it but my selection is very limited in my area.
