I dont believe a robin williams comes along every 100yrs. Johnathon winters was only 20yrs earlier and was doing the same thing except without cocaine and someone else's material. Robin got bigger because of the times. More exposure and Robin was in with multiple crowds that were always working. He was around the Pryor crowd and Billy Crystal and Whoopi doing charities and award shows. Plus he was incredibly talented dramatic actor. The comedy was almost an extention of Johnathan winters act with a touch of Bolivia and collect punchlines.
