NATO has nothing to do with Putins invasion. Putin has to create “strategic distance” and push his border as far west as possible. Moscow is less then 300 miles from the Ukraine border.
Putin can not escalate and never can go nuclear until he can protect his western border. He has to establish the old empirical borders to have half the chance to hold off any enemy.
Putin knows that if he starts a nuclear war then as soon as the fallout settles he will hand at least 10 million raging European men out for Russian heads. The Russian ppl will be wiped out. No man, woman or Russian child will be safe anywhere.
But we have seen how stupid Putin can be by invading and then painting himself in this corner. It’s a mess. Putin has to move to mass mobilization otherwise he can not even think about using nukes.
