Because of this interview, I watched Platoon and the 'infantry' was populated by lame-ass-pussies, both the officers and grunts . . . except for a few standouts. Maybe the Marines, Air Force, and Navy weren't so f'd up.

We had a militarized economy so we just kept it going and had to find new enemies. Its the same issue we face today in 2021, will we have the balls to build a real fair economy from the ground up? Maybe we could go to war with the economy throwing all our military budget at housing/shelter, food and productive work for all. Just saying… infrastructure seems a good start everyone can agree on.
