I wish the pastors had discussed carbon dating as it relates to dinosaurs, as well as the dating of the ice age. I believe the Bible, but I need a more comprehensive scriptural explanation to discuss this with my doubting friends and family.
Some time ago I said to my friendly barber that God is the world’s greatest negative, and after I got his attention I said that this is so because it’s impossible to compete with God. And therefore it’s a negative.
It’s a funny thing but barbers and taxis drivers are just about the only ones who don’t interrupt when your talking. They’ll just let you go for it.
And I went on to say that the atheists/agnostics solve the problem of getting rid of the negative by saying God doesn’t exist.
But God knows we have this problem and He provides the solution. He commands us to love Him. But actually God isn’t hanging out for love. He didn’t decide to make us so He could get a whole lot of love.
The purpose of loving Him is that it’s the right thing to do. He created us and in gratitude we should love Him. However by loving God we join forces with Him. We begin to synergise with Him. We turn the negative into a positive.
The real reason why there are atheists is they cannot bear to acknowledge their extreme inferiority to God hence they choose to erroneously believe He doesn’t exist.
