There’s an idea that exists that at some point in history, the church suppressed several texts and shielded our eyes from some of the more dubious and salacious antics of biblical characters. Supposedly, the figures who have been a mainstay influence for countless generations possess a darker, more insidious side to them and those who have since been perceived as perfect and pious are actually flawed and depraved. So according to this idea, the church sought to cover up the fables that might ruin their saviours. They banned certain books, burned volumes en masse and in some cases buried the contents of these darkly delectable texts in unmarked areas of the desert. So what were they trying to hide?…

Most churches will tell you that the omissions were due to not being able to validate who wrote them or whether they were someone's fan fiction.

I wonder why the Church didn't suppress Genesis 3:11-13.
It is the moment when God couldn't find them in the garden (lol), and they came out of a bramble bush decked out in fig leaves.
"…Who told thee that thou wast naked."
God's enquiry goes without question mark, because it was a rethoric question; being omniscient, he already knew about the sudden invention of Shame and also WHO had caused it.
Personallly I find it a great quote. God's most rational moment, in early Genesis (I found no other example). It's even lightly humoresk.
Okay, the couple was expulsed from the Garden, and there God became IRRATIONAL! Before he kicked them out, he allowed them to cover up their physical and mental shame, and the Lord God even slaughtered animals to provide the humans with "clothes"! Animals clearly meant nothing to the Almighty!
It was the first killing in Genesis.
Had I been God, I would never have been so weak, so ruthless.
But I can image that in Englands' notoriously prim and hypocritic era, no patriarch would want to read these words to his family at the dinner table, and the Pastor in Church neither. 'Nudity' was for conservatives a perversity. And still is.
So how did God's deliciously scandalous words survive, in Christianity?
