I asked a pastor once if he had ever thanked God for the things he hasn't been given? He looked at me quizzically, as if i had just read a line from a long lost book of wisdom and asked what did i mean? I told him, think of the times you may have asked God for great wealth or that new car, and he hasn't given it to you. Now imagine had you gotten those things, how your person would have been changed on a fundamental level, you may not have the walk with God you now have, had he granted your every wish. I think that changed they way he saw things, hopefully this reaches someone else.
