From what I understand, Gleason was a huge UFO buff BEFORE he saw the alien bodies. After the experience, Jackie was then terribly shaken and began drinking heavily… well, much heavier than he was normally drinking. From that point on, he wanted NOTHING to do with UFOs and was no longer a UFO buff. I can understand why; an intriguing subject from a distance until the truth hits you square in the face. Every test of atomic bombs messed with the time-space continuum. So other parallels worlds are affected as well.
