Protestantism and non protestantism and reformations are human terms with one protesting against another. These terms came long after God's creation. However the Sabbath was from the very beginning, at creation for all things. So not keeping the Sabbath among other commandments is protesting God's laws. All people are under God and are free to repent including the pope.
