Would love to hear your take on the Adam – Abram timeline in Genesis as it pertains to
Matthew 24:37 – as in the days of Noah passage in association with Ecclesiastes 1:9.
An often overlooked area of the "the days of Noah" is the detailed uninterrupted timeline from Adam to Abram. It is not simply a generational timeline, but a timeline that defines and documents a specific number of years between events that the reader can calculate.
– From Adam to Birth of Shem, Ham, and Japheth was 1556 years (Gen 5:1-32)
– Noah was 600 years old when the windows of Heaven were opened (Gen 7:11), which makes Shem, Ham and Japheth 100 years old in the year 1656.
– 2 years after the flood, in the year 1658, Shem begat Arphaxad (Gen 11:10)
– From the Birth of Arphaxad to the birth of Abram is 290 years (Gen 11:10-26) with Abram being born in the year 1948.
– The detailed timeline is completed when Abram is told to get out of his country at the age of 75, in the year 2023. (Gen 12:1-4)
In conclusion, from the Birth of Adam (first man), to the Birth of Abram (precursor or 1st coming of the land/nation Israel) is 1948 years, a mirror image of our current calendar starting with the Birth of Jesus (the Son of man), to the rebirth of Israel in 1948. Abram is told to get out of his nation in the year 2023 at the age of 75 years old…if the timeline continues for us, the year 2023 should be interesting.
