The whole "being under the law" I think is not being communicated properly or in a way that makes sense. Plus, it gets confusing when people don't understand that Yah basically has a nickname for His children (regardless of race), and His nickname for His children is Israel, not the state and not just Jewish people. Here is another example. Nobody would ever say we no longer have to obey the law when it comes to stopping at a red light. Nobody would ever say we no longer have to obey the law regarding robbing a bank (don't). Those "laws" we abide by and keep. Not a burden. They protect us from the consequence of breaking those laws so we obey the law. Same with HIS law. Obey = protection (blessings). Disobey = punishment (curses). Another example is this. Many say that the Creator, our Heavenly Father is cruel and mean and they question how could HE allow such and such to happen or how could He allow the killings of children and cattle, etc. Remember this first – HE is The Lawgiver and the true Judge over all of mankind. Now think of it this way. A Judge in court sees a repeat offender. At first, the judge gives the offender a break and a warning. The offender continues to offend and each time his crime is worse and worse, so each time he is in that particular judge's courtroom, the judge ups the punishment. Would anyone say that that judge is cruel or mean or harsh? No. Well our Heavenly Father also punishes repeat offenders and He does it His way. He sends sickness or famine, disease, etc., The bottom line is that the law has never been done away with and it is for us as a guide on how to live but also on how to deal with situations (like when a neighbor's dog falls in a ditch in our yard). The law is for us so that we can live peaceful lives amongst one another and receive His blessings. That sounds wonderful to me.
