I agree with most of what you've said, however, the passages where you quoted from say, "gather" just as it does in Revelation where after the thousand years Satan and his angels gather and stir up the multitudes to attack the holy city of God, the New Jerusalem… right before fire comes down to consume the wicked. Before Jesus comes in the clouds we will see the army of Satan harass, persecute, and eliminate some, but it will not be on a grand scale as Armageddon is talking about. After the 1,000 yrs, we won't do battle with the wicked; instead, it will be Jesus who fights for us, as he always have with His holy angels en-masse.

Jesus didn’t come back in the medieval times. Jesus didn’t come back during the Holocaust. Jesus didn’t come back during any wars. The Pope hasn’t taken over the world. So what makes you think He’s coming back in this lifetime?? We’re all going to be dead long before He’s finally sent back. Unless They forgot about us. We’re a mess, it would make sense if God changed His mind.
