  1. Well ok he does know that programmers are a thing if video games are bad should we stop kids from becoming programmers that designing video games like ok has joe rogan even developed or programmed a video game before again video games are software.

  2. I like video games and all, I am a Quaker and I think it would be awesome to deathmatch against Joe someday, but I do agree with Joe. Nobody ever made living just sitting on their ass playing video games all day because they're nothing more than very fun imaginary adventures. The only way you can really make video games apart of your career (I think) is getting noticed as an indie developer or as a modder. The whole reason why Counter-Strike is still around is because two guys made a mod for Half-Life 1 and they got noticed by Valve. Those guys put in the work for modeling, texturing, coding and sound design to have a game that worked and it was something that clicked with people. The difference there is that's actual work which is substantive. What these kids want to do is splurge a few $100 dollars from mommy and daddy's credit card on microtransaction crap from some asshole company, then they think they're going to get famous playing games on the internet all day long. That's not substantive.

I think part of the problem for kids is that nobody has hobbies anymore. Years ago it was more common to find a young boy who had a rock collection, then maybe he would become a geologist or an archeologist? Perhaps a young girl loved flowers growing up and as an adult she started her own flowershop business? Kids had something that could be substantive for the real world. There can be a multitude of reasons why hobbies aren't as common anymore, money being one of them, but that's one of the main issues that I see. Video games are fun entertainment and you can still have those, I don't advocate to ban video games like some crazy nut. Parents however I believe ought to encourage their children to prosper in a hobby or something that they enjoy, something meaningful that can actually go somewhere.

  3. Too much of a good thing is a bad thing.i built a 2.5k computer in anticipation for a game but until then im emulating games i played when i was 6-10. Im so disinterested with newer games. And a big part of me feels i should just grow up (i have 2 kids a wife dog and 2 cats) and my time should be spent taking care of my family and really raising my kids to be more grounded and not dependent on technology. Another part feels like a hypocrite cause i want something different for my kids in juxtapostiion as to how im living currently, if that makes sense. I think maybe im just outgrowing games and need to move on to different hobbie w more production
