Most preppers prep because it's like a hobby. Same way some people videogame or crochet. It's an activity. And most go way overboard. Instead of buying 20 windproof lighters for a few dollars, they will buy 5 different flints, and 7 pieces of magnesium they can shave off and start a fire with, etc.
But being prepped a little bit is always good. Having enough food in your house for a few months is common sense. And it's not hard to do. Canned tuna, corned beef, a few bags of rice and beans, legumes. There is a high chance that nothing will happen. But that chance is not a zero.
All I can say is that I had a stockpile of N-95’s re day when Covid came about.
I’m still learning skills but I was prepared for that release.
