I’ve seen this shit happen a lot in the USMC as well. People place all their weight and personality on their rank/billet and completely lose touch with their individuality. Which is actually praised in the USMC, zero individuality. I always loved the camaraderie and brotherhood that comes with selflessness or not being and individual, but people forget that once you’re clocked out (unless you’re deployed), you gotta breathe and leave that shit at the shop. Dudes get fried out and literally alienated.
this is so accurate and couldn’t be the furthest from the truth. all about the department. also in NJ cops are highly overpaid and do very little and the towns that do a ton are underpaid. it’s backwards
